THE PROGRAM
I Can Lead! program is designed to give you the basic tools you will need to be a competitive candidate for public office, and run a successful campaign, even if you have never run for office before.
This program has twenty program objectives, in five major topic areas. The bootcamp style training will prepare you in a myriad of areas including leadership development, hiring staff, campaign operations, and campaign finance.
When you are finished, you will be informed, engaged, inspired, and well-prepared to win your campaign!
THE PARTICIPANT PROFILE
The typical participant is someone who has a desire to run for political office. Participants come from all walks of life.
Some have run for office before and lost. Some have run and won, and now want to sharpen their skills for the next big race. Some have worked for politicians in the past and now want to take the next step. And some have been recently motivated to run, and want to get the best possible advantage to win.
No matter why you are here, or how you got here, the principles and techniques learned in this program are transferable to anyone with a desire to lead. Generally, program participants have a desire to serve their community in an elected capacity. Its not necessary to have a political background, nor does it give you an advantage. The desire to learn and apply those techniques to a campaign is all that's needed. We'll take care of the rest.
SCHEDULE
General Track
To take full advantage of the benefits of the I Can Lead! online bootcamp, we highly suggest this track. You will have 30 days to go through the entire online course that includes all five training modules. The time limit is in place to encourage you to focus and finish the course. Campaigns, by nature are focused, intentional, and intense, and your training should be as well.
Primary Track
This track is available for participants who want to focus on one area of the campaign. You can take each module as an individual course. You will have 14 days to finish the training, once you activate it in your profile.
Why I Can Lead?
I Can Lead! is short for Instructional Candidate Leadership. This program is the brainchild of Shannon Lawrence, a born political innovator with a heart for the community. He deliberately created I Can Lead! for anyone who has a desire to run for public office. Shannon truly believes that there are people that would make excellent elected officials and need a guidance in what it takes to get elected. This program is here to change that scenario.
