I Can Lead!
Political leadership isn't given to the most qualified, but is determined by the electorate. Campaigns give voters the first glimpse into the type of leader they are considering to elect. Campaigns expose the strengths and weaknesses of candidates. Winning campaigns make their strengths outshine their weaknesses, and this is no coincidence, its strategy.
The I Can Lead! Instructional Candidate Leadership program is produced by Inkwell Consulting Group to serve three main purposes;

Make participating in the political process, as a candidate, accessible to anyone with a desire to serve as an elected official

Teach participants the basic structure of a formal campaign, and give them practical theories and lessons, that will serve them in their campaign

Be a resource for organizations that want to develop their leaders into elected officials.
I Can Lead! gives participants specialized strategies through in-class exercises, case-studies, and engaging class discussions and brainstorming. When the class is over, each participant will have a blueprint for their own campaign's success.
Shannon W. Lawrence, Founder
Shannon W. Lawrence spent the first part of his professional career as a political staffer for elected officials and labor organizations; and as of late, he provides strategic consultation to individuals seeking to run for office and organizations empowering their communities through policy change.
Over the years, and countless campaigns, Shannon has witnessed really smart, good-hearted people run for political office, from the community that they have lived and worked in for their whole lives, only to lose the election, walking away wondering what happened.
Shannon is convinced that the vast majority of people that decide to run for office truly have a heart for the community they are seeking to represent, and have a passion to serve. He also knows that campaigns are not as simply filing papers and buying bunch of lawn signs. Shannon has developed a comprensive program that will provide potential candidates basic campaign knowledge that will be applicable to them in a campaign at any level.
